Akufo-Addo extends closure of borders by four weeks.This is the second time the President is extending the closure of the country’s borders.The President made this known in a national address delivered on Sunday, April 19, 2020. Although the president has extended the lockdown of borders by two weeks, the president have lifted the ban on all partially locked down towns in the Greater Accra Region and the Ashanti Region.
Also the total number of coronavirus cases in Ghana now is at 1,042. According to the president, the increase in numbers is as a result of government’s enhanced routine surveillance and contact tracing and testing.
Total samples tested so far now stands at 68,591 with 1.52 % testing positive. The results of these backlog of samples when released does not mean the number of new cases recorded on the day of the report. Regions that have reported cases remain the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, Northern, Volta, Upper East, Upper West, Central, Western and North East regions.
