Following the spread of the deadly coronavirus in the country, a number of doctors and other health practitioners have been infected by the deadly Coronavirus, according to the Ashanti Divisional Chairperson of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), Dr. Paa Kwesi Baidoo.
Dr Baidoo, in interview with an Accra based radio station , the president of the Ashanti Regional chapter of the GMA disclosed that,by far thirteen (13) doctors have so far been infected but did not give further details.
Meanwhile, he has advised Ghanaians who are ‘joking’ with the virus to stop because ‘it is real’ and dangerous.
As at Sunday April 26th, 2020, Ghana had recorded a total of 1,550 confirmed positive cases, 155 recoveries with 11 deaths.
According to reports by the Ghana Health Service,the surge in confirmed cases and Recoveries is as a result of government’s intense routine surveillance and contact tracing.
